FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wauwatosa West High School sophomore Felix Bucaro has been selected as one of only 15 students nationwide to receive the prestigious Dunning Fellowship at the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, Michigan.
The Dunning Fellowship, awarded by a panel of CCS faculty and industry-leading designers, provides each Fellow with a scholarship to attend the College for Creative Studies Precollege Summer Experience (PCSE) “Dunning Automotive Design'' program. This includes three weeks of faculty-led automotive-design studio class, three transferable college credits valued up to $4,395, materials, housing, food, and activities, as well as a $500 travel allowance for transportation from the Fellow’s hometown to Detroit.
"We are immensely proud of Felix and his dedication to his craft,” said Dr. Demond Means, Wauwatosa School District Superintendent. “His selection as a Dunning Fellow is a testament to his talent and hard work, and we have no doubt he will excel in this prestigious program."
Students in grades nine through 11 currently attending a high school in the U.S. and legal U.S. residents are eligible to apply for the Dunning Fellowship. The submission process involves submitting between one and three original drawings of any vehicle, either hand-drawn or created digitally.
The 2024 CCS PCSE will take place from July 7 to July 27, providing an opportunity for high school students from around the country and the world to live, learn, and study with CCS faculty. Dunning Fellows will engage in an advanced version of the PCSE Transportation Design course, taught by CCS faculty who collaborate closely with designers and sculptors at GM, Ford, and Stellantis.
