The Wisconsin Council of Administrators of Special Services, Ltd. (WCASS) has named Stacy Klemm, Director of Special Education in the Wauwatosa School District, as its District Administrator of the Year for Region 1.

Klemm has served as Director of Special Education within WSD's Division of Pupil and Family Services since May 2022, bringing over two decades of experience working with students. Her role includes overseeing and collaborating with all certified and non-certified personnel associated with special education to enhance and facilitate services for students with disabilities from PK through 12th grade.

“It's truly an honor to receive this award and be acknowledged for the dedication to serving students with special needs in our community,” said Klemm. "This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of our entire team at Wauwatosa and our commitment to ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and personally."

Founded in 1994 by a group of special education administrators and pupil services administrators, WCASS is a professional organization of over 350 members who administer and support special education programs throughout the state of Wisconsin. The organization’s primary goal is to share resources and information to better serve students in Wisconsin.

“Stacy's commitment to advancing special education services has had a profound impact on our district, and we are incredibly proud of her accomplishments,” said Dr. Demond Means, Superintendent of Wauwatosa School District. “This honor highlights the importance of inclusive education and student support within our community."
